Indigo: Experience the Art & Alchemy of Natural Indigo Dye

Enter the magical world of indigo alchemy, where you will learn the beautiful and ancient Japanese resist-dyeing technique known as Shibori.

We will show you folded, tied, and bound resist techniques to create your own beautiful indigo scarf. Feel free to get creative and not just use your scarf as a scarf. DIY it into a headband, belt, tube top, or even a pareau.

We will start the class with a little history of indigo. (Fun facts - Did you know it is a plant based dye? Originating in India about 3300 BC?) Our knowledgable staff will then demonstrate dye techniques and be available for one to one assistance. After that the sky's the limit for you to get creative and have fun.

Island Bungalow Hawaii uses only all natural plant based indigo for our workshop. We will provide all the materials needed, just show up and be creative.
Class time devoted to lecture: 5-10 minutes

Ocean Creations: A Marine Debris Mobile Workshop

Join us for this fun workshop and create a beautiful, ocean loving mobile that you will construct with plastics and other marine debris that has been collected off the beaches of Oahu. Using marine debris to create art pieces is a great way to express love of the sea, coastlines and our environment. It gives these destructive materials fresh life and a new purpose. For every plastic product produced, there will forever be traces of it somewhere here on earth. Let's REUSE, REDUCE & RECYCLE!

Everything you need to make this eclectic eco mobile will be provided. All materials are scrubbed and sanitized with Mother Earth friendly cleaning agents. Get creative, having intention to cherish Mother Earth and her
blanket of oceans.

About Stacey G Jewelry:
Stacey was born in Laguna Beach, CA, a beautiful, eclectic art community. Her parents were adventurous surf seeking travelers, so her love for all things ocean started early on. She still has her treasured shell collection from years of beach combing. One can find these natural
gems on some of Stacey's most coveted designs. Stacey G Jewelry began out of a time in art therapy and from there grew into a collection of
jewelry that has been sold throughout America, as well as a few stores in Japan, Mexico and France. Her designs have graced the pages of In Style, Elle, Glamour, US Weekly and People Magazines. There was a time that some of the most stylish celebrities were seen wearing
Stacey G Jewelry. Today Stacey lives in Kailua, HI. She keeps her business small and curated. Utilizing natures treasures: gemstones, crystals, vintage shells and coral, Stacey hand crafts a collection that is
beach, bohemian and luxe. Each pieces of Stacey G Jewelry is created by hand and goes through the hands of at least one artisan. This is what we consider to be true luxury, pieces made with care and intention.
