The practices of Insight meditation include not only the cultivation of mindful awareness for clear seeing, but the awakening of the heart as well. Lovingkindness is a quality of basic friendliness and kindness that is innate within each of us. This is a practice of deliberately cultivating this radiant quality of heart using phrases in meditation to expand our capacity to love, beginning with ourselves and eventually extending out to all beings everywhere. May we all be safe, happy, healthy, and free.
