In this workshop we study and practice yoga according to principles of alignment dictated by human anatomy. We see how two pairs of oppositional actions in the lower body and core and two mirroring actions in the upper body make every pose and movement better, in yoga and in every kind of sport and movement; and we learn how to balance these actions out with each other to customize the practice to ourselves and others according to individual differences. Attendees can expect to leave with a simple but profound set of consistently applicable principles of internal action – not only in yoga but in all physical activities – that will keep them (and, for teachers, their students and clients as well) safer, enhancing their success, satisfaction and longevity of practice.
Class time devoted to lecture: 21-30 minutes
